Ravenna

The ancient religious buildings preserved in Ravenna (Emilia-Romagna) constitute a collection of some the best-preserved extant examples of Byzantine architecture and mosaic decoration. Remarkable for its urban design, the town is peaceful and sleepily pleasant to visit on foot.
